Pruning Tips:

1. Crepe Myrtle Pruning - Best time is late winter or early spring. This is when it's in it's dormancy. Always cut limbs at an angle for best results.

2.
Azalea Pruning - You should prune azaleas in the spring or early summer. The best time is after the flowers begin to discolor and fall off. If you prune them in late summer, fall, or winter you will be removing the flower buds and keep them from blooming.

3.
Pruning Hollies - It is best to wait until late winter or early spring, just when it starts to come out of dormancy. That way they start to cover or fill in quickly, any pruning you have done. Hollies are very hardy and recover quickly. This is why you can do light to moderate pruning anytime.

4.
Pruning Oak Trees - The best time is in the dormant season, late winter. Any other time they can get certain diseases like oak wilt. Do Not prune during the months of April, May, or June. It is always a good idea to use a wound dressing on fresh cuts to prevent oak wilt (spread by beetles)

5.
Hedges - Most hedges can be pruned or trimmed twice a year say in the spring and mid-summer to keep them looking neat and clean.
